Senior Connections: health + wellness supports for seniors in the Monadnock region
At Cheshire Medical Center, we are dedicated to supporting the seniors in our community to live active and healthy lives.
But there’s no getting around one thing: as we age, our bodies and minds change. There are things you can do to stay healthy and active as you age. It is important to understand what to expect. Some changes may just be part of normal aging, while others may be a warning sign of a medical problem. It is important to know the difference, and to let your health care provider know if you have any concerns.
Having a healthy lifestyle can help you to deal with normal aging changes and make the most of your life. Cheshire Medical Center offer seniors in the Monadnock region the following supports:
- Senior Passport Program—a discount meal program offered in the Art Nichols Café at Cheshire Medical Center
- Free Community Education Opportunities— lectures and classes on nutrition, exercise, and health education.
- Cheshire Walkers Program—a series of walks and hikes throughout the Monadnock region. Members walk every Wednesday in the Fall and the Spring in order to increase physical activity, foster social connection, and learn about the region’s rich history.
- Healthier Together e-bulletin—a monthly e-mail full of helpful tips and tools, along with information about local learning opportunities and support offerings to help you live your healthiest.
